Let’s start our tour, starting with a visit to the ancient city, a thousand years old, in Faro, the capital of the Algarve, one of the oldest cities in the province. We will start at the main entrance, the monumental Arco de la Vila, neoclassical, which can be visited at the top. The pedestrian visit and walk along its sidewalk, we will visit Sé, its cathedral, built in the sec. XIII, the Municipal Museum, inserted in the convent of the sec. XVI. Around its walls we will enjoy the beauty of the Ria Formosa, natural reserve.
Continuation our tour with visiting the fishing town Olhão, where its market stands out not only for its architectural beauty, its surroundings, its seaport and the private fishing port.
Afterwards we will go to the village of Santa Luzia, a fishing port and famous for the fishing of the octopus. Next to its edge there are several restaurants where your favorite dishes is the octopus cooked in many different ways.
The locality that follows us is an old town, Tavira with a very extensive historical heritage. Its centenary bridge over the river, the churches, the small park of the castle. A walk through the city center through the narrow streets, through its garden, market and riverbank. A few more kilometers we will reach CacelaVelha with its Church, its surrounding patio where we can enjoy the beautiful view of the Ria Formosa, a natural reserve of fauna and flora.
